Experience
I am a translator and tutor in Chevy Chase, Maryland with several years of experience in both areas. The subjects I offer include French, Spanish, reading, writing, languages, and public speaking. I teach multiple levels, or grades, of each of those subjects. I started my career tutoring middle school students as a volunteer about nine years ago. I enjoyed this work because of the topics I worked with, but found larger groups of students to be a challenge when teaching on a volunteer basis. I now prefer working with smaller groups or just a few students at a time. From middle school students, I progressed to tutoring college students in French while I was also attending college at Howard University and the Monterey Institute of International Studies.Today I mostly work as a translator, helping people communicate through translation projects that teach them new languages or improve their English skills. Because culture and communication are important to me, I find this to be a great fit. I translate as often as I can, but when I am not doing that or tutoring, I enjoy dancing, hiking, and volunteering.
